Crafter in the making

My daughter's classmate ordered some items. Considering im a little busy preparing for the kids dress for incoming eid, Fatihah is attempting the crafts herself. I just gave some help here and there.

Flat marble brooch

Recent project... Have been looking for the flat marble and never thought it is sold locally...

Was visiting newly opened local shopping complex and happened to enter its discount store...

I was browsing shelf of various colourful plastic stones when dear hubby grabbed a pack of beautiful marbles.

Only when i was at home checking all my craft supplies then i found out that among the marbles there are some flat transparent marbles.

So, with sticker found at nearby store, i tried my dream craft, flat marble brooch.

Supplies:
Flat marble
Stickers
Brooch
Hot glue

Very basic, isnt it?...

Pocket done (90% done)

Pocket done and ready attached to the body.

Now, to make collar button hole and to attach arm parts onto main body part.

This is close up in making button hole.

Just sharing, I am using button hole function of my 11-years old Singer sewing machine...

and button feet (or foot??).

Collar completed. (65% done)

Take the first part of the collar and put it on a piece of fabric right side on each other.

Cut it. Take note that the length of the collar should be more or equal to the neck hole.

Now, sew the top of the collar with small stitch. Allow for some space between the edge of the fused fabric and the stitch.

Close up shoot.

Then, cut out. Dont forget to snip the balance edge.

Turn over and press.

Close up shot. Attach to main body by sewing the bottom part to neck hole and continue to stitch the top part until it return to the beginning point of sewing.

Wallaaa...

Here it goes for the critical part. Take five for dzuhr prayer.

Major collar part

Using the template... Make sure not to iron on the glue side...

After pressing...

Cut out...

Fold the upper part by pressing the fabric onto the fuser. Would be easier if you apply the stick glue thinly at the edge of the fuse fabric before fold and press...

Close up after pressing.

Then sew the folded part...

Collar ( 50 % )

Set aside the pocket. We will come back to it later.

Now, let's do the collar part first..

The two collar parts will be attached to body first before focusing on the major collar part after this.

Pocket

Next stage is to cut out two lower pockets and a smaller upper pocket.

Firstly, prepare a 21 X 10 inch rectangular fabrics.

Then, divide it into 3 sections; 8 inch, 8 inch and 5 inch.

After this, i will need to cut out into 3 pieces and shape them into pocket shape based on the templates.

It should be

Like this...

The top...
The collar part would be the most challenging...

And the bottom...
Supposed to be easier ( compared to the shirt).. That's why i make it first...
